This policy explains what Top Methods LLC ("we," "us"), operator of charlottepermitdata.com (the "Service"), collects, why, and your choices. We keep it short and collect only what we need.
1. Information we collect from you
- Account info: your company name, email address and password. Passwords are stored only as a salted hash, never in plain text.
- Preferences: the trade tags and ZIP codes you choose.
- Billing info: handled by Stripe. We receive your Stripe customer ID and subscription status, not your full card number.
- Session cookie: one cookie that keeps you logged in. We don't use advertising cookies. The site uses no analytics or ad trackers.
- Technical logs: our host, Cloudflare, processes IP addresses and request details to deliver and secure the site and for error logging.
2. Public permit data about other people
The Service shows Mecklenburg County public permit records, which can include property addresses and owner names. This information comes from public government records, not from you. We don't add phone numbers or emails to it. If you believe a record about you is wrong, the official source is Mecklenburg County; you can also contact us and we'll review requests about how a record appears in the Service.
3. How we use information
To run your account, send your daily permit email and account/billing messages, process payments, provide support, keep the Service secure, and fix problems. We don't sell your personal information and don't share it for advertising.
4. Who we share it with
Only service providers that help run the Service: - Cloudflare — hosting, database and security - Stripe — payments and billing - Resend — sending emails
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users' safety, or as part of a sale or merger of the business.
5. Retention
We keep account information while your account is open. After you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymize it within a reasonable time, except records we must keep for tax, accounting or legal reasons (for example Stripe payment records).
6. Your choices
You can update your trades, ZIPs and email settings in your account, cancel anytime, and ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information by emailing us.
7. Security
We use HTTPS, hashed passwords and reputable providers. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
The Service is for businesses and is not directed to anyone under 18.
9. Changes
We'll post updates here and change the effective date. For material changes we'll notify you by email or on the site.
